Setting up your Studyladder class in under 10 minutes

New teachers often ask how long it takes to get set up on Studyladder. Honest answer: less than a coffee break, if you follow this order. Here's the whole thing, step by step.

Step 1: Create your teacher account (2 min)

Head to the teacher signup page and select a package (remember, every plan starts with a 30-day free trial). Then enter your details and you're in.

Step 2: Add your class (3 min)

From the teacher dashboard, add a class and give it a name (e.g. "5B" or "Miss Chen's Reading Group"). Enter one student name per line. You can copy and paste straight from a document or spreadsheet, and Studyladder generates usernames and passwords automatically.

Step 3: Print the QR sign-in cards (1 min)

This is the single biggest time-saver for younger classes. Go to Students → Edit Class, click Create student QR codes, then print from the bottom of the page. Kids hold the card up to the webcam and they're straight in. No username, no password.

QR sign-in cuts your class-wide login time from ten minutes to under two. Print them once, laminate them, done.

Step 4: Assign your first activities (3 min)

From the activity library, filter by year levelgrade and topic. Pick 3–5 activities that match what you're teaching this week and click "Assign to class". Students see them the moment they log in.

Step 5: Bookmark the reports tab (30 sec)

You won't need it today, but by the end of the week the reports tab will be your favourite page. Every activity a student completes shows up there with accuracy, time spent and question-by-question data.

That's the whole setup. If you get stuck at any step, our support team is one email away. Start a 30-day free teacher trial.
